DICULIK GENDRUWO

Warga Dusun Sukoreno tiba-tiba gempar! Betapa tidak, Warno, 58 yang baru saja kembali dari mencari isterinya yang sudah tiga hari tidak pulang, rumahnya dipenuhi asap.

Warno berteriak-teriak, “Kebakaran kebakaran! kebakaran!”

Para tetangga pun berhamburan mendatangi dengan membawa ember penuh air untuk memadamkan api. Tapi apa daya, walau asap memenuhi rumah bahkan sampai membumbung ke luar, tetapi, sumber apinya tak pernah kelihatan.

Akhirnya, Warno masuk ke dalam rumahnya yang masih dipenuhi dengan asap. Bau menyengat dari barang yang terbakar langsung menyergap hidungnya. Sementara orang-orang yang berdatangan tak bisa berbuat apa-apa. Sumber api yang mereka cari tetap saja tak bisa diketemukan, akhirnya warga Dusun Sukoreno, Desa Sukosewo, Kec. Gandusan, Kab. Blitar, membiarkan asap itu pelan-pelan menghilang tertiup angin.

Di tengah kepekatan asap yang menyelimuti rumahnya, samar, Warno melihat ada asap agak tebal mengepul dari almari pakaiannya. Dengan serta merta Warno pun membukanya. la pun terkejuti. Betapa tidak, semua pakaian yang tersimpan rapi di dalam almari telah menjadi arang. Peristiwa aneh tetapi nyata itu langsung saja menyebar. Ada sebagian orang berpendapat, mungkin kejadian itu mempunyai hubungan dengan hilangnya Katemi, 56 yang sudah tiga hari tidak pulang ke rumahnya…

Seiring dengan datangnya senja dan para tetangga masih memenuhi rumah, mendadak, Warno melihat Katemi sedang berjalan dengan gontai menuju rumahnya.

Dan sosok itu terjatuh tak sadarkan diri ketika kakinya menapaki serambi. Melihat kejadian itu para tetangga yang ada segera bertindak untuk menolongnya. Dan tubuh Katemi langsung diangkat ke dalam untuk mendapatkan perawatan seperlunya.

Setelah mendapat perawatan seperlunya, esoknya, Katemi menceritakan pengalamannya selama diculik genderuwo. Hal itu wajar, rumah Katemi dekat dengan Urung-Urung (hutan kecil) yang oleh masyarakat sekitanya masih dianggap angker. Maklum, Urung-urung yang merupakan cagar alam yang tak seberapa luas itu masih dipenuh oleh pepohonan yang sangat lebat dimana di dalamnya terdapat mata air yang mengalir, menurut kepercayaan masyarakat, sumber air yang berada di bawah pohon Apak di tengah-tengah Urung-Urung itu adalah perkampungan para genderuwo.

“Awalnya saya hanya mencari kayu bakar di sekitar pohon Apak,” demikian Katemi mengawali ceritanya.

“Siang itu, di bulan Juli tahun 1988, saya menemukan kayu kering memanjang yang tersangkut di antara pohon yang satu dengan pohon lainnya. Dahan kering itu kemudian saya potong jadi dua dan saya seret pulang. Dan sesampainya di halaman, kayu itu saya potong lagi dan langsung saya pakai untuk memasak. Saya tak punya pikiran apa-apa tentang kayu kering itu. Malamnya, sehabis maghrib, tiba-tiba ada beberapa orang hitam dengan mata merah menyala mendatangi saya yang sedang berada di dapur. Saya sangat ketakutan, di samping tinggi besar, seluruh tubuh orang hitam itu dipenuhi bulu,” tambahnya.

Katemi yang ketakutan tidak lagi dapat menghindar, saat makhluk itu menangkapnya. Ia pun berusaha untuk meminta tolong. Tetapi apa daya, salah satu makhluk itu membungkam mulutnya. Dalam waktu sekejap, Katemi telah dilemparkan ke suatu tempat. Tempat yang temaram dan amat asing baginya.

Kini di depannya duduk sesosok makhluk yang lebih menyeramkan. Berperawakan tinggi besar, mata bulat menyala, gigi menyeringai kehitaman yang dibatasi oleh bibir tebal berwarna merah tua dan dikerumuni banyak makhluk yang sejenis dengannya. Saat itu, ia benar-benar tak tahu jika dirinya sedang dikepung oleh genderuwo.

“Orang ini yang membakar pakaian Ki Demang yang sedang dijemur,” demikian kata salah satu makhluk yang menangkap Katemi. Suaranya serak, hingga menggetarkan gendang telinga Katemi.

Katemi amat ketakutan, tanpa sadar, ia pun ngompol! Ia hanya pasrah dan berdo’a memohon pertolongan dari Tuhan.

“Kalau begitu bakar saja, dagingnya kita makan,‘” sambut Ki Demang.

”Tunggu, pakaian apa yang saya bakar? Saya tidak pernah merasa menemukan dan membakar pakaian” bantah Katemi nekat.

“Kamu goblok! Dahan yang kamu bawa pulang itu jemuranku. Di situ ada pakaian yang ikut kamu bakar, goblok!” Bentak Ki Demang sambil mencambuk tubuh Katemi.

Katemi menggeliat kesakitan. la mencoba menentang dengan kata-kata, “Yang goblok itu kamu dan rakyatmu. Sebagai manusia, saya tak pernah melihat milikmu. Atau buat jemuran yang lebih tinggi agar saya tak bisa menjangkaunya”

“Diam!” Teriak Ki Demang sambil mencambuk Katemi. Ia benar-benar marah. Sementara, yang lain bersorak kegirangan. Di tengah-tengah kesakitan dan ketakutan yang mendera, mendadak Katemi dapat akal.

“Kalian boleh mencambuk saya sampai mati. Tapi ingat, manusia pasti akan membakar daerah ini. Dan jika ada yang melawan, Mbah Suro Genthelut pasti akan memusnahkanmu. Ingat itu. Ayo cambuk kalau berani,” tantang Katemi.

Kata-kata ini benar-benar mujarab. Ki Demang, bahkan genderuwo yang lain menjadi ragu untuk bertindak.

“Pasung!” Demikian perintah Ki Demang.

Kini, Katemi pun terpasung. Mendadak, dari mulutnya ke luar kata-kata ancaman, “Kalau sampai tiga hari aku tidak pulang, mbah Suro Genthelut pasti akan marah. Kalian pasti dihajar!”

Kembali para genderuwo itu terdiam. Ketika Katemi ditanya hukuman apa yang layak diterimanya, dengan lantang ia menjawab, “Jika dicubit, maka, manusia membalas dengan cubitan pula.”

Jawaban katemi membuat para genderuwo harus berunding barang sejenak. Akhirnya, Ki Demang memutuskan untuk membalas dengan cara membakar pakaian milik Katemi. Seiring dengan terbakarnya pakaian di rumah Katemi, genderuwo itu juga melemparkan tubuhnya. Begitu bangun, Katemi pun tersadar. Bahkan, dengan dua ayunan langkah ia sudah tiba di serambi rumahnya. Walau di sana hanya serasa beberapa jam, ternyata, telah tiga hari Katemi meninggalkan rumahnya.

Ternyata tak hanya Katemi, waktu kecil, Nasroh, 34, juga mengalami hal yang sama ketika ia bermain-main di sekitar Urung-Urung. Kala itu, ia merasa diajak oleh neneknya. Dan tiga hari kemudian, ia diketemukan sedang duduk di dahan pohon Sawo yang tumbuh di pinggir Urung-Urung. Suatu hal yang tak mungkin bisa dilakukan oleh lelaki dewasa sekalipun.

Bahkan, salah seorang warga dusun mengatakan kepada Paranormal-Indonesia.com, “Akhir-akhir ini, genderuwo Urung-Urung sering usil. Mereka sering mencuri pakaian dalam wanita yang sedang di jemur. Esoknya, barang-barang itu sudah ada di pucuk bambu yang cukup tinggi.”

Bukan tak mungkin, para genderuwo itu masih dendam atas tindakan Katemi yang secara tak sengaja membakar pakaian milik Demang-nya. Dan hal itu dibenarkan oleh mbah Suro Genthelut. “Kalau mereka sampai mengganggu manusia lagi, aku siap menghajar atau mengusir mereka dari Urung-Urung.
